3. Elevator Aces

Here is another great classic self-working card trick:  the Elevator Aces.

Effect:  four aces are presented and dealt onto the table.  Each of the 4 Aces are put into different part of the deck and rises to the top or sinks to the bottom.  End with a surprising effect.

Watch the performance:

Explanation:

1. 4 aces on table.  Hold deck in left hand.

2. Place each ace one by one to the long side of the deck in a special fashsion as shown below

3. As right hand approaches the deck to take the aces, left thumb secretly push off one indifferent card and add to the back of the 4 ace.

4. Right hand take the 5 cards as 4 aces and put the pile on top of the deck.  Square up.

5. Deal the top 4 cards one by one onto the table face down from right to left.

6. Now spectator would perceive the 4 cards as all aces but in fact the left most 3 cards on the table are aces while the one on the right is an indifferent card.  One ace is on top of the deck.

7. Take the left most card (ace) and put it at the bottom of the deck without showing the face of the card.

8. Make a magical gesture and turn over the top card to show that the first ace has risen to the top.  Put this ace face up onto the table.

9. Take the second card on the table (ace) and put it face down onto the top of the deck.

10. Make a magical gesture and turn over the whole deck to show that the second ace has sunk to the bottom.  Place this ace on to the table.

11. The deck remains face up.  Take the third card (ace) and stick it face down into the face up deck.

12. Turn the whole  face down again.  Make a magical gesture, turn over the top card and show that the third ace has risen to the top.  Put this ace onto the table.

13. Take the last face down card (indifferent card) on the table and stick it face down into the face down deck so that it is lost in the deck.

14. Make a magical gesture and fan the cards to reveal that the last ace has mysteriously turned over by itself.

Now you try to learn this trick and remember the steps, sometimes you may find the explanation video goes to slowly and the performance video lacking the secret moves you need to remind yourself of.  Therefore, I’ve made a video called Super Pracitce session which you can watch and do the whole routine over and over again until you absolutely remember all the details by heart.
